About our Small Animal Dermatology Clinic at Eden Vets
Skin problems can be extremely frustrating for pets and owners alike. Constant itching, head shaking or rubbing can lead to potentially serious infections and discomfort.
Our small animal dermatology clinic is based in Shavington, Cheshire, close to Crewe just off J16 of the M6. We provide personable and tailored care in a modern and calm environment where your pets needs are at our forefront. Our highly trained team are on hand to support you and your pet throughout your journey.
What to Expect from our dermatology service
Referral to a veterinary dermatologist may seem overwhelming, especially if you’re anxious about your pet’s wellbeing. However, with Eden Vets you can rest assured that you and your pet are in expert hands; we are proud to boast a certified dermatologist veterinary surgeon: Viorela Singeorzan who joined the team at the beginning of 2025. She and her nursing team have undergone expert training in small animal dermatology all for the benefit of your pets.
We’ll first conduct an initial, 1-hour consultation and examination of your pet, including the evaluation of the skin, ears, feet, and general clinical parameters. In most cases, we will then perform several in-house tests known as cytology to help diagnose the problem. Samples may be collected as a skin scraping, impression smear, swab, or via fine needle aspiration/biopsy, depending on the condition. Surgical biopsies may be advised to make a definitive diagnosis. If your pet has chronic ear problems, then advanced imaging such as video otoscopy (using a camera to look down your pet’s ear) and CT scans may be advised.
Based on the findings of the tests a tailored treatment plan will be formulated with regular follow-up appointments to ensure a good response to treatment. Any questions or developments can be discussed at these appointments.

What conditions do we treat?
Specialist Equipment
At Eden Vets we’ve invested in high-tech specialist veterinary dermatology equipment (such as video otoscopy) to treat a wide range of conditions. We also have a range of in-practice testing equipment (e.g. IDST) which allows us to provide clients with answers same day, saving time and money.
We also are a multidisciplinary practice and therefore have several vets who have special interests and advanced qualifications in surgery and medicine. This means if your pet requires surgery or additional medical investigations your pets does NOT need to be referred elsewhere.
This means we’re the perfect vets to help manage your pets skin problems or help offer a vital second opinion at diagnosis.
