Eden Vets January Newsletter

Happy New Year from Eden Vets

Eve, Georgina, Kate and the Eden Vets team would like to wish all our clients a Happy New Year.  We cannot thank all our clients enough for your continued support and kindness in 2024.

During this past 12 months we’ve been committed to provide our clients with gold standard care and in doing so we have further expanded our team of first opinion veterinary surgeons and referral surgeons.

We have also further expanded the Eden Vets family and opened a branch practice in Sandbach, we are very excited to offer our services to the wider community.

In 2024 we have continued to raise money for local charities through our toy sales, and one brave staff member jumped out of a plane to enable us to instal not one, but two defibrillators at our clinics to help us serve the communities with a potential cardiac emergency.

We continue to have more exciting plans in store for 2025 to better serve our clients and your wonderful pets.

Jools Brammer – Reception

Jools has worked at Eden Vets since it opened in 2020 and is an integral part of our reception/client care team.

Prior to this, however, Jools has had a 30-year career as a Police Officer, where combined with her love of dogs she worked as a dog handler for the last 15 years. One of Jools’ police dogs, an English Springer Spaniel named Alfie, was voted Britain’s best police dog upon his retirement in 2013!

As children, Jools & her sister had always wanted a dog but their parents always said no…. so to make up for this Jools has looked after and owned 18 dogs over the years! Jools currently owns a Labrador named Maverick. Maverick is also a pet blood donor and has saved countless dogs lives through his donations in 2024.

Jools completed the Blue Cross pet bereavement support course in 2022 and offers support to clients during this difficult time.

Eden Vets Star Patient of the Month

This months star patient is the handsome Humphrey who was seen by Vet Kate as an emergency medicine referral.

Humphrey had not been feeling himself after eating a tea towel the day before and having a mischievous history of eating things he shouldn’t have his owner made an appointment with his normal vets.

He was admitted for further investigations and radiographs. Following imaging there was a suspicion of a gastric foreign body and he was referred to EVR for gastroscopy.

We are proud to host several flexible endoscopic cameras at Eden. This allows our vets to be able to diagnose and treat a wide array of conditions, in particular the retrieval of foreign material!

Vet Kate and her nursing team were able to retrieve 6 pieces of towel!!! All without the need for surgery. Humphrey was the perfect patient and woke up from his general anaesthetic and was discharged home that evening. Hopefully he’s learnt his lesson this time!

Client Notice – With effect from 1st January 2025

Unfortunately, and like many other businesses, the impact of price rises across all our services and suppliers is increasing.

Over the last couple of months, we have received numerous updates from suppliers informing us of considerable price increases, these increases mean that we have made the difficult decision to review our prices.
We will always do our utmost to keep costs as low as we can.
However, in the current economic climate and with the rises we are facing, our prices will be increasing from Wednesday 1st January 2025. Information on our updated prices can be found on our website.
